The first phase of the Association project involved recording high resolution multi-beam data which was undertaken by MSDS Marine. The multi-beam data was used to model the topography around the site.  Phase two of the project involved the collection of photographs and videos to illustrate the virtual tours.  This work was undertaken by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Maritime Archaeology Society (CIMAS).

Situated around the Gilstone Ledges in the Western Rocks in the Isles of Scilly, the site of the Association varies in depth between 5 and 40m and is located in deep rock gullies with large boulders.  Public access is only possible by licence under the Protection of Wrecks Act.  The licencing is currently administered by Historic England and the local dive charter boats operating in Scilly have annual licences to visit the protected wreck sites.
