Why join NAS?

By becoming a NAS member you are helping to support the protection and preservation of our nautical past.  With us you can not only indulge your passion for nautical archaeology, you will also be helping record and preserve the worlds intertidal and underwater heritage for future generations.

Membership types 

Choose between individual, concessionary, family and organisational membership with both online access to our publications with an optional upgrade to hardcopy IJNA. Please note that all our membership categories benefit from an annual discount of paid for by Direct Debit.  Contact us ([email protected]) to set up a Direct Debit with our provider “GoCardless” -  we are afraid that Direct Debits can only be taken from UK bank accounts.

Rates quoted are those as of January 2020. We are still offering a £3.00 per year reduction for Direct Debit members (only available in the UK).

Students:

For registered students at any university.

Email a copy of your student card to [email protected] and NAS staff will set up a free one year membership including the Weekly Discoveries email and online access to IJNA. After this first year, concessionary rates apply for the rest of your time as a student.

Individual Full:

For individual residents of ‘full rate’ countries; UK, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, USA, Western Europe (based on World Archaeology Council registration categories found at http://wac.org/registration/)

Individual membership costs £28.00 for the Weekly Discoveries email, £45.00 for the Weekly Discoveries email and IJNA online access and £70.00 (EU area) / £84.00 (Non-EU area) to receive the IJNA in hardcopy published twice a year, as well as electronic access to the full IJNA back catalogue.

Concessionary:

For students, unsalaried, pensionable individuals, ‘non-full rate countries’ (as above) and members of our affiliate organisation, the Institute of Nautical Archaeology, USA.

Concessionary membership costs £20.00 for the Weekly Discoveries email, £35.00 for the Weekly Discoveries email and IJNA access and £53.00 (EU area) / £67.00 (Non-EU area) to receive the IJNA in hardcopy published twice a year, as well as electronic access to the full IJNA back catalogue. Concessionary members are able to benefit from all other member only discounts.

International:

For individual residents of countries other than the UK. 

International membership costs £12.00 for the Weekly Discoveries email including advanced notice of courses and fieldwork around the world. International members are only eligible for discounts on online delivered courses but not in-person courses. They also need to pay extra to access to the IJNA. Use the discount code NAS_INT when purchasing membership. 

Family:

For families of up to 2 adults and 2 children (under 18 years of age) resident at the same address.

Family membership costs £35.00 for the Weekly Discoveries email; £65.00 for the Weekly Discoveries email and IJNA access and £90.00 (EU area) / £104.00 (Non-EU area) to receive the IJNA in hardcopy published twice a year, as well as electronic access to the full IJNA back catalogue. Family members are able to benefit from all other member only discounts.

Organisational: 

For organisations, companies, societies and clubs where more than 2 adults and 2 children will be accessing the IJNA and the weekly news update.

Organisational membership costs £168.00 per year including online IJNA access, and £183.00 (EU area) / £197.00 (Non-EU area) to receive the IJNA in hardcopy published twice a year, as well as electronic access to the full IJNA back catalogue. Organisational members are not able to benefit from other member-only discounts.
