Some of the most interesting courses the NAS runs are our MACs – Maritime Archaeology Courses.

Anyone can take these courses and members can gain 5 credits/day toward a qualification if they wish. There are no prerequisites for these courses unless noted in the course documentation.

The courses fall into four main categories: Research, Pre-Fieldwork, Fieldwork (practical and classroom-based) and Post-Fieldwork.

The courses are run by specialists in their field around the UK and overseas and credits are awarded to members who undertake these courses.

In 2020 and 2021 nearly all our MACs are being held live online (via the GoToMeeting platform), allowing you to interact with subject experts, while maintaining safe social distancing. You can find out more about the GoToMeeting platform requirements here:
