Anchors are an incredibly useful artefact type that can often help identify or date an archaeological site. On this course you'll get an overview of anchor development from the earliest known stone anchors to 20th century stockless anchors. You'll also learn how to record different types of anchors so that you can contribute to the crowd-sourced Big Anchor Project and help yourself and others learn more about anchors. This course can be done in-person at museums with anchor collections, or it can be delivered purely online as well.
