WHAT'S IT ABOUT?

Through a series of evening short courses, participants will get an introduction to the variety of options for publishing archaeological discoveries. The course will begin with compulsory practical advice on referencing and copyright, using illustrations in publications and why on earth we need to publish in the first place! After that, participants will have a choice of topics to attend one or all of the short courses. These will cover archaeological report writing, academic publishing, self-publishing and publishing online.

WHO ARE THE TUTORS?
Mark Beattie-Edwards, NAS CEO and experienced report writer

Ian Cundy, Senior NAS Tutor and self-published author

Athena Trakadas, editor of our publication the International Journal of Nautical Archaeology.

Julian Whitewright, NAS Monographs editor

WHO'S IT FOR?
The course is aimed at individuals undertaking the NAS Education programme, in particular, those who are working towards their Award or Certificate in Maritime Archaeology and would like some additional guidance for writing their 2,000 word report. These courses will be extremely useful for amateur or professional archaeologists wanting to develop their publishing skills.

NAS members will earn 5 credits towards their Certificate or Award.
