Learn the essential practical skills that will allow you to develop your interest in underwater archaeology.

These three days of practical training are held in the controlled freshwater environment at Stoney Cove Dive Centre. You'll be doing all your practical training on a real Elizabethan wreck that was placed in 6-7m of water to allow you to experience a real wreck!

Get in the field with our Recorder Day and learn how to record a site through sketching, photography and video, then on the two Surveyor Days learn how to complete a 2D survey of a site and how to use a planning frame to produce a scale drawing.

This three day course will cost approximately £250/person for the tuition and training materials but does not include costs for entry to Stoney Cove or air fills.

Other dates are available. See our Events page for more options.

We need six participants to run this course, so please register your interest to [email protected] and we'll let you know when we have sufficient numbers to go ahead.

Alternatively, get together with five of your dive buddies and we'll run the course where and when you like it!
