Get hands-on experience of the conservation of archaeological finds from the marine environment and learn about the sampling and recovery of environmental material from such sites. 

Participants will learn about the decay processes, first aid conservation and standard techniques used to stabilise and preserve a wide range of archaeological materials from the marine environment. The course will include a combination of lectures and practical sessions delivered by professional conservators and archaeobotanists. 

Finds used in this course will have recently been raised finds from the Rooswijk and London wrecks and is being run in conjunction with Historic England and MSDS Marine.

As part of their work on the Rooswijk wreck, the Dutch government has subsidised a series of three courses using the wreck artefacts: CoinsConservation and Photogrammetry. Further discounts apply when you book more than one type of course at the same time. (Does not include multiple people attending the same course).
