In 2019 ICUA Zadar in cooperation with Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS) will continue to organize NAS courses. NAS courses aim to provide not just an introduction to the underwater archaeology, but also offer people a chance to build their skills and experience, allowing them to take part in projects and fieldwork around the world and perhaps to run their own projects.

The ICUA Team will conduct NAS courses during 2019 in the vicinity of the small medieval city of Bale in Istria County. This year during lectures and practical exercises we will have help form Peta Knott, NAS Education Officer. Theoretical lectures and practical exercises will be conducted at the diving club “Old Diver” which is situated within the campground Mon Perin.

Part I certificate in foreshore and underwater archaeology course will consist of theoretical lectures - Carrying out an archaeological project, Locating and exploring a site, Project safety and logistics, 3D survey, Dealing with finds, Post field activity and practical sessions - getting to know a site and recording a site (two dives).
