The Australasian Institute of Maritime Archaeology (AIMA) in conjunction with the Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS-UK) teaches courses by practising maritime archaeologists.

The Part 1 course is a general introduction to maritime archaeology which focuses on aspects such as pre-disturbance, or in other words, non-intrusive surveys of shipwreck sites.

There will be shore dives as the practical component on this course at Indented Head.

We will also have some guest lecturers from the Maritime Archaeological Association of Victoria (MAAV) come along. They are fantastic, have years of experience and renowned across Australia.
