Sound of Mull 2009 Underwater Archaeology Fieldschool

13th - 24th July 2009

In July 2009 the NAS ran a 12 day fieldschool on underwater archaeology based at Lochaline Dive Centre on the West coast of Scotland. The fieldschool was taught by the NAS Training Officer, Mark and Annabel Lawrence (ADUS and formally of Wessex Archaeology and the ADU at St Andrew’s University) as well as Colin Martin and Paula Martin (IJNA editor). The fieldschool included an Introduction and Part I course as well as a Part II Heritage Day on the Duart Point Protected Wreck Site, Part III courses and fieldwork on the site of the John Preston a schooner built in 1855 and wrecked in 1882.
