NAS Part III - Dendrochronology

This is a two day course in the Archaeological Science Part III module.

The course has previously been held at the Newport Ship Centre, Newport, Wales and in Plymouth, taught by Nigel Nayling of Lampeter University.

The course aims to introduce participants to the field of tree-ring dating, it's uses in maritime archaeology and some of the difficulties that they may come accross. By the end of the weekend particpiants should have an understanding of the subject and should be able to begin to assess waterlogged timber samples for their suitability for dendrochronological dating.
