What is the NAS Annual Conference?
Featuring presentations from a range of professional
and amateur archaeologists, the NAS Annual Conference provides an
opportunity to discuss research, review the archaeological activities of
members, exchange ideas and network with friends and colleagues from the UK and abroad.
An exciting international event, the NAS Annual Conference also incorporates Poster Displays and a Maritime Trade Display and the presentation of the Annual Adopt-A-Wreck Award. The NAS Annual General Meeting is also usually held during the conference day.
Social Activites
As well as a packed day of speakers, the NAS Annual conference also incorporates the chance to meet other members both Social
The Friday evening usually involves a social get together in a local pub! In 2008 this also incorporated a closely run skittles competition held at the Royal Maritime Club. The conference dinner on the Saturday night is an evening not to be missed, have previous dinners have included the Mary Rose Museum, a traditional meal on board HMS Warrior and a sea shanty evening at the Royal Maritime Club.
Excursions
Conferences ahve also offered the opportunity to meet again with an excursion that in the past have included sailing a tall ship and recording anchors in the dockyard to start the Big Anchor Project
