The NAS Annual Conference 2010 featured a wide range of presentations from those involved with maritime archaeology all over the world.

 

 

Adopt A Wreck Winners. Credit Martin DaviesThe conference also included the 8th Annual Adopt a Wreck Award with a chance to hear about the winning project from Southsea Sub Aqua Club.

 

Friday 5th November 2010 – Informal drinks

NAS Members and friends met in the Ship and Castle pub on the Hard for informal drinks and a chance to catch up before the conference day.

Saturday 6th November 2010 – Conference Day

Saturday 6th November 2010 - Beer and Skittles

On the Saturday evening after the conference the NAS once again hosted an informal skittles tournament at the Royal Maritime Club, a chance to catch up with other members and speakers from the conference. The skittles tournament was won by Richard Rowley and Ayse Atauz. A grudge match also took place resulting in the NAS Training Manager Mary Harvey winning £5 from Mike Williams for the charity of her choice!!

Sunday 7th November 2010 – Excursion

On the day after the conference 30 delegates were welcomed by Nick Hall of the Royal Armouries at Fort Nelson. The tour looked at the guns in the collection which have come from ships and how the armouries deal with guns found underwater, including a chance to view the guns raised from HMS Victory.
