Photo: Last year’s winner – ‘Like father like son’ by Jose Manuel Mates Luque

Are you a budding marine archaeology photographer? If so, how about entering the NAS Calendar Photo Competition 2013.

At the end of the competition 12 winning photographs will be chosen as the new images for the 2014 Calendar.

Plus, the photo which is judged to be the overall winner of the competition will win a SeaLife DC1400 HD Compact Camera or equivalent, courtesy of the Divezone (www.thedivezone.co.uk).

Pictures can be of scenes underwater, the foreshore, terrestrial, group shots, artefacts and finds or NAS Training.

Remember this is a nautical archaeology calendar so we would expect an artefact photo to contain a scale, or a photo of a site to show people at work, surveying recording or excavating.

Photographs may be submitted in colour or in black and white and must be submitted with a short caption no longer than 6 to 8 words long.

Photographs must not have been previously published – social media is ok.

The competition is open to all NAS Members and photographers can enter a maximum of four images in either the beginner, intermediate or advanced categories.

All entrants must complete an application form and follow the rules of the competition during entry.

Submissions must be received by the NAS Office no later than 9th September 2013.

Winners will be announced at the NAS Annual Conference 2013 in November.
