Archaeological fieldwork and boat recording weekend, with SCHARP and the Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS) – visit the SCHARP website for more information.

Join us on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October for a weekend learning how to carry out an archaeological survey, recording intertidal wrecks and researching the history of the abandoned boats at Newshot Island, Erskine.

We’ll spend Saturday morning covering archaeological survey techniques and discussing how we’ll record the boats, and then spend Saturday afternoon and Sunday on site drawing them.

Participants can do the NAS e-learning introduction course for free (normally £35) and this weekend will count towards your practical.

The weekend is free but spaces are limited so contact Ellie on elg5@st-andrews.ac.uk or 01334 463017 to find out more and book your place.
